What is your web design process?
It all starts with having a conversation on Zoom and me understanding your vision for your website.
I need to understand your business, objectives, priorities and goals, what stands in your way and who your audience is.
I create a sitemap and wireframes. Once the general direction is approved, I gather together some visuals and examples to ensure the direction is right. I’m collaborating with you during this whole process.
I create the website on a local set up, providing you with links to view.
Once we are all happy with the outcomes, I perform proof checking, testing and optimsation. The final stage is teaching you how to use your website.
How long does the website development take?
It varies. It depends on the size of your website and how many changes are requested.
A single-page website can be done in a week. A 5-7 page website on average takes 4 weeks. Anything more complex can take up to 8 weeks.
Should I hire a web designer or do it myself?
This is always your call. However, there is more that goes into a website than meets the eye. Even if you take the time to build your website you could be missing out on important steps such as:
- Important functions you didn’t know your site could do
- Specific UX tricks that make your site more user friendly
- Specific conversion tricks that make your goals reachable
- Technical elements that make your website searchable
The list really does go on. Your website is critical for your business. I suggest getting inn touch with me cause not only do I know what I’m doing, but I do it well.
What is the benefit of WordPress over platforms like WIx and Squarespace?
The main benefit is that you own your platform. You’re not paying monthly for the privilege of using it and you are not limited to what the platform allows you to do.
Can you redesign my existing website?
Sure can! I start by taking a look at your current website, discover what is and isn’t working and the process begins from there.
Can you help with copy and images?
Totally… Did I mention my graphic design background and that I’ve been doing copy for over 10 years?
I can totally help with copy that is SEO and conversion-friendly and images that stand out and scream for attention.
There is an extra added cost to me creating the images and copy though.
I can get a website for $499
Oh dear! Websites take time. Make a responsive website is like making 3/4 websites within itself. Connecting Google and SEO and custom functions etc all takes time.
The reason I list everything you get with one of my websites is so you know what you should expect from a website and there is transparency.
If you’re purchasing a $499 website, you’re not going to get one that is done properly. It is likely outsourced overseas and it will just be a shopfront rather than the well-oiled machine that websites (your competition) are these days.
